Pierre-Auguste Renoir naquit le 25 février 1841 à Limoges. Nos parents le placèrent donc chez un peintre en porcelaine. » Un des ouvriers de Lévy, Emile Laporte, pratiquait la peinture à l'huile pour son plaisir. Il proposa à Renoir d'utiliser ses toiles et ses couleurs. Et c'est récisément ainsi que naquit le premier tableau du futur impressionniste, qui fut montré très solennellement à Laporte dans la maison des Renoir. Dans les années 1880, Renoir connut enfin le véritable succès. Il travaillait sur des commandes de riches financiers, de la propriétaire des Grands Magasins du Louvre, du sénateur Goujon. Ses peintures furent exposées à Londres, à Bruxelles, à
la septième exposition internationale chez Georges Petit (1886).
Dans sa lettre adressée à Durand-Ruel, à New York, il écrit : «L'exposition de Petit est ouverte et elle a pas mal de succès, diton.
Car c'est difficile de savoir soi-même ce qui se passe. Je crois avoir fait un pas dans l'estime publique, petit pas. Mais c'est toujours ça ».

Know what you're buying...

It's likely one will find Discovering Your Spiritual Gifts, once it arrives, quite disappointing. DYSG is subtitled, "A Personal Inventory Method." Actually, it is a pamphlet-sized questionnaire. The best feature: a bibliography. Wagner's Finding Your Spiritual Gifts is much more complete, costs less, factors in "subordinate gifts," and gives scripture references for his definitions of the gifts. See also, Spiritual Gifts Inventory by Team Ministry. FYI: Both questionnaires assume tongues as a modern, available gift--"non-charismatics" might find a few questions enigmatic.

Discover yourself

The more honest you are, the better your results will be. In solitude and after much prayer, I took the spiritual gift inventory. Two hundred statements later, I was a bit surprised at the results--but they made sense, based on my Christian experience. Readers will find the inventory thorough and interesting. Definitely recommended!

Excellent resource

Highly recommended as a tool for confirming or discovering your spiritual gifts. I have taken at least 4 spiritual gifts tests and this one has been the most comprehensive and accurate-there was an area of gifting that I knew existed, but I didn't know exactly what it was until taking this test-the only test I have seen that separates the gift of giving into 2 categories. I never fit the traditional mold because my gifting is geared toward needs rather than the more general and more recognized gift of giving. This is just one example of the thoroughness of the test. There are likely other good ones out there, but this has been the best I have seen yet and worth the time it takes to complete.

Kindle version not on par with print version due to image scaling

The songbook is good, and accurate to the album that it's for, but the Kindle version doesn't meet my needs. The format is image based, but the images don't scale well on any of my devices except my desktop computer. I had hoped to use it with my convertible laptop in portrait orientation, which has an 11.6" screen, but the images (the music, which is the most important part) scale poorly and end up being blurry and hard to read. I returned it for a refund.

That said, the songbook itself is good, but I would recommend sticking with the print version unless you will be using it only with a larger display. I already owned the print version, and it's quite satisfactory once you crack the spine so that it stays open.
